AULUS DUO

The Aulus Duo is a flute and guitar duo formed in September 2020 by Ellie Knott and Georgina Dadson when they met during their postgraduate studies at RWCMD.

Participatory music-making in community settings is very important to Ellie and Georgina. They work regularly with Wye Valley Music and Live Music Now to lead workshops and interactive concerts for those living with dementia and children with ALN. Their education project, Project Bottled, has been introduced in England and South Wales and continues to expand.

Keen collaborators, in 2021, Ellie and Georgina recorded ‘The Mind’ concert for the Arc Project and presented a recital at Urban Crofters in Cardiff. They previously worked with composer Birgitta Flick to record her new composition Tau as written for The Arc Project’s Digital Ensembles Project. They have also enjoyed working with Tŷ Cerdd and composer Jared Destro to record his piece Berceuse on ‘Anodd Ymadael’. In partnership with Tŷ Cerdd, National Eisteddfod and RWCMD, they performed this composition alongside works by Welsh composers at the National Eisteddfod in 2021 and 2022. In 2023, the duo performed as part of Fishguard Festival of Music.
